I paddled the lower (aka north) pond at Nod Brook WMA in El Habañero for a little more than an hour today, from about 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm. Three quarters of the pond is iced over. There was full sun and the water was fairly clear, although the ripples from the seven to 10 mile per hour south breeze made it hard to see more than four feet deep. I threw a wacky Senko and a four inch jerkbait, but didn't get even a nibble. But it sure was nice to get out on the water for the first time this year.

Nice! The way this winter is going, we'll be out on open water again in early March, haha!
