I have always heard nothing good about the taste of bluefish. Im not a huge fish eating guy myself and like the milder fish only. After the charter I took the other day i ended up bringing some bluefish fillets home. I soaked them in milk for like 3 days and cooked that up right along side of some striped bass and must say bluefish gets a bad rap. When soaked in milk I thought it actually tasted better then t\he striper. I dipped both in egg and flour and fried both in butter with some olive oil also. Looks like Ill be keeping a few blues here and there now.

Not a huge fan of bluefish myself, though it is fantastic when it's smoked. Glad to hear you found a way to enjoy it!

We caught some blues 2 wks ago and my dad's friend offered to smoke some fillets for us. Wow! My dad is going to buy a smoker now. I lived in S. FL and quickly thought of making some smak or smoked fish dip. Some crackers & some brews, now I'm all set!
