Its been a while since my last report, but here it goes. We were invited to go out by my stepfathers co-worker on his 20 ft Grady White. It was an oldie but goodie. He had an awesome setup for his cooler and bait board on top. Anyway, we got on the water around 10 am. He headed strait for the Race and we got into some blues. Diamond jigged a few and then the bite just stopped! The tide change just shut them down. We then headed towards Fishers Island for some porgy action. We must have been doing pretty good because the BlackHawk was following us!! We even got a few black sea bass on the hi-low rigs. The fish mostly hit the clams, we also tried squid. Got off the water at 3 pm. We ended up with 5 blues, 43 porgies and 2 sea bass. The most exciting part for me was that I got a chance to try out my new bottom fishing outfit ! It performed awesome, just going to order a power handle for the reel. Then going to take it on the Frances Fleet later this month for a chance at 40 porgies and sea bass! _________________ When in doubt, rip their lips out! |
