Hey, has anyone been down to or heard about the fishing out in Barkhamsted down in People's State Forest or any other part of the West Branch of the Farmington River? I heard the water levels are a foot over flood stage still, but dont know whether anyone else has gone out to fish the area. I'm looking to head back out to the area next weekend to give it a shot.

Although the volume is at triple pre-Irene levels, the level is only a couple of feet higher. I'd say that you could fish it, although I couldn't say where the fish are.

Hi!

Just as in the spring, when rivers and streams are running high and rolly, the fish will be at the bottom where the water flow is much much slower or tight in against the banks and bank detents where the water flow will also be much slower.

Belive me -> They are there! -> You just have to get down to where they are in the slower water and entice them to bite! Very Happy Thumbs Up
(Heavy lures, weighted bait, or weighted flies needed)

Good luck! -> "BE SAFE" -> Don't wade the rivers or streams when water is running high and rolly Exclamation
