Reports a little late, sorry. Fished the W.E.T. Trail (Wednesday Night Tournament) at Crystal lake in Ellington with my buddy Rhodes from 5-9pm. Only 4 boats there, which was disappointing, I think the weather threat kept some guys away. We came in 2nd with 5 fish for 9.22 lbs and at least got our money back. 1st was the guys who run it with 10.13 lbs with a 3.60 lb lunker. That's what we were looking for but never found. I found a couple of nice areas there which was cool because I hadn't done well the last few times there (which had been about 3 years ago). All our fish but one came on soft plastics - crawbugs, drop shots and worms. I got one on a black spinner bait at dusk. This is a great little trail. I've done 4 of them this year and look to do a couple more. It was breezy and rainy, but the thunder and lightning stayed away. Heading to Candlwood for a night slay tonight. Can't wait.

congrats! that place can be tough. there's some hawgs in there when you can find em' though. i've been fishing crystal for years and it has always seemed like the big fish never come from the bassy looking areas of the lake. i've caught some pretty big bass in there in some pretty suprising places. great job on second again! Thumbs Up
