my parents decided to go to home depot and i asked them to drop me off at my local lake. Lake Garda. it is very small. i started at about 3:00 PM and fished a 5" senko texas rigged but didnt catch anything on it. i saw a lot of bass hittting the top so i decided to throw a top lure. i caught 2 nice largemouth bass but one was pretty small. i would put pictures up but i dont know how to. i met the head fisherman there and he caught the largest fish there. it was a 40 lb carp. |

Yes, Lake Garda is a private lake...water draw down was extensive this year and there is a lot of sediment build up, makes you wonder what the fish population is like this year. |

lake Garda is private for residents who live in Burlington (which i do). yes, there is a lot of sediment build up and havent caught anything big but its fun to go fishing for 2-3 hours when you have nothing else to do |

Lake Garda is private to Lake Garda residents, not Burlington residents FYI, you need to pay the LGIA association fee's in order to use the lake. |

Although the DEP has authority over the water in Lake Garda, it does not have the authority to decide who can use Lake Garda. The surrounding landowners and lakebed owners do. And the LGIA appears to own much of the surrounding land and the lakebed:
Quote: | After much negotiation, leadership assistance from both Burlington and Farmington, and litigation the [LGIA] purchased the dam in 1998 and had it rebuilt with the help of state DEP funding. At the same time the Association purchased the lakebed and the Battistoni Beach. The eight-acre parcel at the other end of the lake was purchased a few years later from Morton Dunning the civic-minded president of a sand and gravel company in Farmington who sold it to the Association at a price significantly below what he could have sold it to a developer. |
The LGIA, not the Towns of Burlington or Farmington, pays to maintain the lake and the surrounding roadways.
As simon intimated, you should probably contact the LGIA to confirm whether you have permission to use Lake Garda. I know that you wouldn't want to trespass.
