Anyone had any luck splicing 2 fishfinders into 1 transducer. I have a Garmin fishfinder 85 that I spliced into my Garmin 160 Blue's transducer. They both seem to work independently, but the temp is all wacked out on the display and when they try and work simultaneously they interfere with each other?
Any tips? _________________ HONEY, I'LL BE HOME FROM FISHING IN A COUPLE OF HOURS, I PROMISE! |

As far as spliceing the 2 together so 2 head units can read off of 1 transducer this is the first ive herd of someone trying it ??? the problem with that thou id you wont get a accurate reading say on the bow of the boat i really dont think you should use 1 transducer for 2 units unless you have an transducer switch i know lowrance and humminbird make a transducer switch you can buy .. but ive always used the 2 units as 2 units with 2 transducers if you adjust the settings you can minamize the clutter on the screen while both units are on not sure if thin will help you out or not _________________ I Eat ,Sleep and Dream about fishing cant get enough |

Thanks BigBeav. I did splice them together and prior to posting this question. Because they both run on the same megahertz, they interupt each other. Also, I noticed that the bow readout is off by 2 ft. Guess I'll just run the other transducer. Thanks for all the help guys! _________________ HONEY, I'LL BE HOME FROM FISHING IN A COUPLE OF HOURS, I PROMISE! |
