I went down the street from my house to the upper (i.e., north) pond at Countryside Park to fish from the shore for a little while. I was probably there from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. I took only my crappie setup (i.e., UL rod with six pound mono) and my trout setup (i.e., ML rod with braid and a 10 pound fluoro leader). The air temperature was 88 degrees and there was full sun. There was just a slight breeze blowing intermittently from the south. I ended up not catching anything on the crappie setup. Strangely enough, I got a black crappie with a wacky Senko on the trout setup:
After I swapped out the wacky hook for a small red Blue Fox Vibrax inline spinner, I caught three sunnies. I switched back to the wacky Senko and landed a small largemouth bass:
It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours, instead of just sitting on my butt in front of the television. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
