So im shore fishing for a few after work tonite at a place near my house. The spot i like to fish is small and only really room enough for one person comfortably. When i arrived someone was fishing the spot so i went to a different area until they left. When they left i procedded to go over and started catching fish right away. Then these two jack.....es show up and come down like a foot from me and start casting over my line..so i say hey guys i am fishing here and one of them says "oh i guess public doesnt mean public with you"..dudes let me tell you i am not a violent person but i wanted to smach these two idiots(and anyone who knows me knows i can put a hurtin on someone) and i reply well its inconsiderate..so what do they do..they move over to the area of shore where i am casting...at this point i am sooo annoyed i just said nothing else fearing the situation would escalate..not worth it for two morons...i am willing to bet this has happened to alot of us....the end

Johnny, don't lose it, please. It seems the way society and the economy is going, some people have nothing to lose and will be more than willing to take you down with them.
Come on hear and rant, we'll all agree and voice our own frustrations, but let the a$$holes go thier own way. Life will catch up to them, and one day they will pull that sh!t on the wrong person, who just so happens has nothing to lose. |

I was at lake of thousan islands? near foxwoods casino last year. was fishing there before the KISS concert at Mohegan in august. A family was having a picnic near the boat launch, no big deal I went accross the boat ramp and was fishing away from them. The kids coming running over and into the water to show me all the fish...yea, some pumkinseeds... trampling in the water, and the parents....what did they say? "isn't that cute that they are showing you where all the fish are"...yea, isn't it cute with a cottin rattler in your kids ear...
I really prefer to fish alone, I work with the public and fishing is my time, unless I'm with someone. If I see people at a pond/lake, I'll try to find a very secluded area or I'll leave and find another lake. Would be easier though if I had a boat. |

I'm much, much more tolerant of children than adults, although I WILL tell YOUR KID to stop throwing things into the water while I'm fishing. I'll also tell YOUR KID to pick up his or her trash. But I'll say it in as non-threatening a way as I can muster.
Sorry, chud059, but I'll also say "Hi" to you while you're fishing. I've met some pretty cool people while fishing.
Johnny, I'd probably just leave if a couple of "inconsiderate A$$es" showed up. But, then again, I'm sure that I get many more opportunities to fish than you. Life's too short to get all worked up about "inconsiderate A$$es". I think that you did the right thing. Including venting about it. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Johnny- you should have let the 24inch pythons run wild on them..... Naw, that's not the right way to deal with it......
Seriously...
The thing is, now a days you just dont know who you're dealing with... And it works both ways... They dont know you, and you dont know them...
You dont start something with someone you really dont know... they shouldnt have with you, and you certainly dont want to with them.... You never know who has a firearm sitting in the glove box. People are alittle more trigger happy lately.... I know a guy who keeps a .45 in his truck and a 10mm in his boat! And he's an AWESOME shot So it does exist.....
Dumb people who dont get the hint to not start shit with people will catch it in the end from someone... They'll keep acting like an asshole and one day they'll do it to the wrong person... When you keep pushing the edge, you'll eventually be pushed over....
I think you handled it well Johnny. _________________

This kinda crap happens to me all the time when trout fishing. As soon as i catch one three other angler decide to basically shadow me and end up crossing my lines.
It's hard for me not to say something rude, so I usually will just walk away from them in thr stream, making sure i kick my feet and splash all around to scare the fish away.
Ron, I like your method with the cigar.. I will try that next time. Maybe I will just pull out my wiggly worm and decide to just relieve myself right there.! _________________ I'd rather be fishing, than sitting here in front of this computer,,, |

How do you access Sanford's pond? I looked it up on google maps. Looks like a commuter lot on 202 there. Do you just cross the street and train tracks and find a spot from there? |

You can do that but it's a drop than prickers and poison ivy (if yer agile like Indiana Jones you'll be fine) I've gone in by the hotel. There is an opening on the right side. Follow the tracks down a 1/4 mile and go in. Be careful. Lot's of snakes and Indiana doesn't like snakes either! (or was that rats?) _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

I'm more of a Mariners fan. Actually, it's more accurate to call me an Ichiro fan.

That's what I did...Follow the tracks until you see an opening on the left. And yeah, be careful of snakes, prickers, poison ivy, bears, swans, coyotes, etc. but ESPECIALLY TICKS & SPIDERS! I've never seen so many arachnids in one place...bring some Xanax. _________________ Kira
