|
Can anybody tell me the rules for jug fishing. Is it allowed in Ct. I know it is allowed in other states.
I would like to know the rules before I go out and toss a couple of lines and then go fish another area of the lake.
Thanks |

I asked the DEP the same question. The response I got is in red:
Quote: | [I]s "jug fishing" or "jugging" permitted? YES as long as you are out there with it and can retrieve the float promptly. If you are out in a kayak/canoe/boat you could have up to two lines out. An example of something that would not be legal would be to place a float/line out in a water body, and then leave it out there (while you go home, or sit on shore with no means to retrieve the float). |
Remember, you can have only two lines out (i.e., in the water) at a time. If you have two jugs out, you can't also use a fishing rod. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
