fished from 4:45 AM to 5:15 PM. Water temps began at 70.5 and ended at about 75. topwater bite was not happening at all. picked up the first fish which was a keeper smallie on a tube in about 12 FOW. nothing for a while and then i went froggin. many blowups but only one hookup which was a 2# Largemouth. no more frog bite so then i went back to deep and picked up my best fish which went 3-2 on a jig in around 12-13 FOW [img][/img] then a pike around 27" on the jig from the same spot. no more jig bite. went to the far end of the lake and picked up a 2# largemouth off a boat dock on a spinnerbait in about 2 FOW. went back to the area where i got the 3-2 and the pike with the drop shot but just pulled up a couple of small yellow perch. ok time for a new spot...flat with rocks scattered and deep sides. piked up a perch and 3 smallies on the drop shot. only 1 smallie was a keeper. wouldnt post the pic but these 3 smallies are my first drop shot bass. [img][/img] Keith T i forgot to tell you that i found the hump we were looking for last time and marked on the GPS. its pretty nice. today SUCKED. HApy Fourth everyone!!! in search of smallies on thursday depending on the weather. _________________ www.nakedbaitco.com |

usually i just throw a tube head inside and rig it with the hook exposed but you can texas rig them to be very weedless as well _________________ www.nakedbaitco.com |

Some nice fish Jon. I've caught some on Bantam with the dropshot. Probably should try it more.
Tight lines.
