I fished Spring Pond from 4:45 pm to 7:15 pm. The sky was overcast, and there as a brisk south wind that rose and fell between 10 and 15 miles per hour. I caught a 12 inch largemouth bass in the south cove, a 17 inch, 2-1/2 pounder off of the north shore and a short on the north side of the north island. I think the 2-1/2 pounder might be the one that mep21 (aka Mark) lost at his kayak on the north shore the other day. Cool Here are photos of the first two fish:

All were caught on a Berkley Powerbait BladeDancer jig head with a six inch Creme worm on it. I also tried a white floating crankbait that would dive to about three feet, but didn't get anything on it. It was easier to keep the worm swimming through the tops of the weeds without getting fouled up.

I just realized that I didn't throw a Senko even once that trip. Wow!

In a bigger lake like Zoar, I'd probably try to cover water with a jerk bait, fished with looong pauses. Or a Texas rigged worm, dragged slowly on the bottom, also with looong pauses.
