decided to fish something totally different...

in short, fished 7:15am - 12:15pm, 1 pickeral/pike and no bass.

the details...

tide coming in: started off up the salmon river fishing the deep weed edges and surface weed edges with a spider grubs and spinnerbaits. didn't go up into the first creek but fished the mouth well.

continued up the river and picked up the nice size pickeral/pike on a spinnerbait before the 1st big bend to the right.

fished the inside and outside of the whole bend and inside flats (started throwing a sluggo too) from the channel. nada.

stopped fishing to check things out and motored up past the round gray home and turned around heading to chapman pond. not sure what kind of fishing is up that way. looked like more of the same.

on the way met up with another fisherman (paul) and he recommended the chester cove.

hit chapman pond around 9ish (tide still coming in) and fished the north half (wind was picking up from the north and didn't want to run out of batteries on the south end). fished the outside weedline and some of the flats. nada. left with the tide going out (10ish).

motored down to chester cove (was surprised to see such big boats in that tight marina) and fished between the bridges (railroad and road). nada.

not many fisherman on the river or in the lot (i was the 1st one there). but will try the river again when i have a few hours to fish!!!
