Hit Candy with my bud Kevin a few days before he gets married to celebrate the occasion. Hit the water at 6:30 dropped the TM in Squantz cove to try to hit a few quick fish. Got one short SM for my trouble. Ran to 1st spot.....threw spinners, jigs, cranks for a whole lotta nothin. We decided to hit a rocky deep shoreline for some shakey head action. Nada again. So, I grabbed a jig and beaver combo and flipped the shore a bit. Flipped a laydown and got a tap. Jacked the set and got this:
My PB smallie going 5lb 1 oz. Jumped so high it bounced off the grab rail on the ranger. That made the trip worth it. Kev managed to get in on the action on a deeper weedline with a nice smallie and largie
Water was 78-79 all day. Tough bite, but a great da on the water to send Kev outa bachelorhood and into the world of married life.
Later,
