FIshed Lilly last night 8 pm to 2 pm. We caught fish but it wasn't as good a night as I expected. We caught 12 fish total a mix of SMB and LMB. My partner got two LMB that were 3 lbs, the rest were 1.5 to 2.5. We caught most of them on a 1/2 oz black spinnerbait with a big single blade. A few were caught on a black worm.
Most fish came from 5 to 8 feet deep. No fish on topwater.
Lilly had a lot more weeds than I have seen in a quite a few years, must be from the hot summer.
We started north of the bridge but we caught most of our fish south of the bridge main lake.
Over all it was a fun night but the highlight of the night wasn't a bass...on a very dark shoreline we had a four raccoon MMA fight breakout in front of us about 20 feet from the boat. It went from dead quite to screaming and growling racoons...too funny... |

Hey, Zman,
You mean that you stayed on the water until 2 am on Lake Lillinonah, right? It's hard for me to imagine a 1,547 acre lake, especially one that's a dammed up portion of a river, as being "weedy". Were "a lot more weeds" a good thing there? On the small ponds where I usually fish, "a lot more weeds" is usually a bad thing.
