we got a ticket for trespassing that didn't have a fine. its one you have to go to court for. we didn't even fish or get out of the car either.

just to clarify, i was the only one to get the ticket. simple trespassing is one of the charges and is not the reason i have a court date. the summons is for something else caused by my own negligence.
as for the trespassing, well we pulled into the boat launch area after dark, there were two cops sitting there as well as the d.e.p. so that might have something to do with it. also, i didn't know it was an actual park (cove park). it isn't listed in the guide, but as far as i know, all parks close at dark. if i had known it was a park i wouldn't have gone. |

Yup I got slammed by the po-po too because I was fishing in a park after sunset. I guess that town I was fishing in has no crime because they sent not 1 cop not even 3 cops but 5 cop cars with 4 of the officers talking to me and the 5th driving around the block. |

The Batterson cops were cool to me, and that's a park. They just cleared out the riff raff hanging out in their cars and let me keep fishing. They don't bother the overnight catfish anglers in the summer either. I didn't realize there was any special rule for "parks." Couldn't find a mention of it in the angler's guide either. If the "park" closes at sunset, there should be a sign stating this (like at the entrance of the1860 Reservoir.) _________________ Kira

Yeah, but there's no way they could determine my hotness at Batterson, in the dark, with several layers of clothes on, even with their spotlight. There was too much distance between the cruiser and my boat. The argument wouldn't hold up in court, as my hotness level was quite low that night anyway. Regardless, the DEP guide doesn't say anything about Batterson being closed at night. However, you can't just be hanging out in your car after dark...it's shady & not what the park was designed for.
My hotness possibly benefited me when I stayed "after sunset" at the 1860 Reservoir...those cops asked for my credentials, so they got to view & rate my hotness up close and actually use it as a factor in determining whether to give me a ticket or not. My hotness level was maybe a few points higher that evening. I also earned a point for not being drunk, another for speaking English, another for having my permits and licenses in order, another for having a decent bass picture to show from earlier in the day, and another for being polite.
Forget all that crap I just typed...if Batterson didn't allow night fishing, they wouldn't stock it with walleye. Simple. _________________ Kira
