went to bantam for the morning. had to try the motor out and the new fishfinder. fished from 7-1 and it was kind of slow. the water temps were 69-71. got 2 lmb on a watermelon fishstick wacky rigged. each went about 3#. then got a perch and a rock bass on a crankbait. all of these fish were near rock and weeds. then moved to a steeper dropoff area and got another yellow perch and a 2# lmb on a crankbait. this was about 8-12 feet of water. got a couple little bass and then headed out due to weather. thanks to bass inspector if you read this for help landing the boat. also to the other guy in the tracker thanks as well. AND THANKS TO THE BIG BEAVE for installing my new finder which is amazing how accurate and sensitiv it is....already got a couple of spots on the GPS.....i will be going back to bantam again this week probably...hopefully with better results. _________________ www.nakedbaitco.com |

Nice job Jon! My first time at Bantam was the tournament Chuck put on a couple of weeks ago and it is a great lake. The only bad thing is the parking problem. Plan on going back soon. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

I would donate some equipment to increase the parking lot size.
It needs to be much bigger for a lake like that _________________ GET HOOKED! tm |

ron- i would say look for offshore areas that have both rock and weed. it seems to have the most potential to hold fish....i would say target 5-13 foot range. also if you are able to find the schools of perch you will find the bass....there are some monster schools and i caught bass and perch at the same time. today i was there fighting the wind and did catch a small keeper shallow on a fishstick (senko type bait) so some fish are still shallow. so if all else fails try that. thats all the advice i have as ive only been there a few times.....good luck and ill look for the post _________________ www.nakedbaitco.com |
