Went to Highland pond with my friend Tom in the morning after work. Got there around 9:45am and stayed till 11. I was throwing a silver husky jerk...had a couple follow it but they didn't bite. Switched to a smaller size of the same lure...no luck. Tom was throwing a pretty large spinner bait for a while with no luck.
He switched over to an inline spinner and started nailing them. He landed 4 bass in about 20 mins time. I went skunked. None of the bass were big, certainly not picture worthy. But a good time none the less- first time I've seen a bass come out of there since ice-out so that's a good sign...I assume by Monday after this weekend of warm weather the bite will really pick up. _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |

went again this morning (4/6) alone and fished for maybe 45 mins...the Bite was ONNNN!!! First cast was a fish and they didn't stop there. Prolly caught 30 + bass, I stopped counting. They were very aggressive, hiding out in weeds. All of them were tiny as hell though, nothing over a pound. But...it was the most fun I've had yet this open water season. haha...fish on people, fish on.. _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |

Im jealous! I dont even remember the last time I held a rod in my hand that actually had fishing line adjacent to it.
between the flooding rains, holidays, and other misc junk, its been a slow go.
dyin to get out and flip jigs or see if any pike are still hanging around. |

Hey- Gimme a call and let me know if you want to get out on the river for some more pike before they scatter to the four winds! I've only gotten out shore fishing on Highland pond...which is fun, but I'd rather hook into some nice sized pike than 6" bass.... _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |
