I went to pickeral on saturday after I cleaned the boat and got some of my tackle back in order. i only stayed there for an hour and a half but managed 2 nice fish just under 2 lbs each. I had a few hits but couldn't hook them, I think I was too anxious to catch them maybe even a little rusty. Once I paused after feeling the bite I was able to catch something. They came on the jig in 6 fow. water temps were 48 - 49 on the TM. I tried a trap and a spinner bait but not even a sniff on them.

I think I'm going back on Friday if the water is low enough to launch, I assume pickeral is in the same shape as moodus. With all the rain moodus if almost a foot over the dam. Tthe little pond on the other side of the road from lower moodus was flooding over into moodus, Iv'e never seen it that high.

Nice job dude! Picky can be really good sometimes or it can be really tough. The thing about Picky is finding the sand bars between the grass. I know it sounds silly because there a lot of grass there but that were the fish hold off the shoreline. In the summer when you get out to the middle of the lake you can find the patches without grass. Thats where you'll find the majority off the fish. Even this time of year. Most of the people that go there get all excited about the wood in the water but most of the time thats where the little fish are. Get yourself some "minus 1" crankbaits and go there

I'll bet some of those things you're calling sandbars are where people ground out their motors Justin!
I've found some nice ones a lot of places in that lake,..it seems to have a whole lotta fish around 4-5lbs but I agree on the hit or miss thing.
ps: Don't tell anyone ( ),but a few have been in that little cove where the boat launch is too,...so don't be too anxious to zoom off to somewhere else!!

I cant tell ya how many times, I get in the Tracker, Start the motor, back her off the trailer, pick up my buddy who parked my truck, pop her in reverse, then drop the trolling motor, and started catchin fish.

Everyone (except you two, and me) screams across the pond from where they launch, leavin the hawgs right there. and in Pickerel, slow slurpin a RAT.
