lakes that are stocked with trout have a closed season. it not really the species that has a season but the lake/rivers that have a closed season. double check before you hit the water |

Yeah, i looked into it more and most lakes are closed until the third week in April.
Luckily i live close to the mass line and can fish there year round but its another $40 for a mass license. |

you can fish Colebrook res. on the east side with a CT licence I found out that CT and Mass have resperosity for that res. Lots of big fish too, so I hear _________________ "Nobody touches the Shaqtus" |

Yeah, i realize that now. They just make things kinda confusing on the site. For an example,at the top of the page they say you can fish for bass in any lake or pond year round. Next page has a list of fresh water fish,Bass, trout, pike etc. and again they say you can fish for bass year round, trout after the 3rd Saturday in april. Then you scroll down the page to LAKES AND PONDS and it says, All lakes and ponds open year round, unless otherwise stated. And almost every freakin lake is closed until the third Saturday in April. Way to get every ones hopes up and then shoot them down. |

Yep. stay away from the trout waters, or anything connected to em and fish! Not for nothin I do most of my bass fishin in non-trout stocked waters.
ALSO... CT RIVER is always open... so dont forget that spot...
And as far as fishin on Coventry, and all that will be taken away... Ive had a few run-ins with the Po-Po's in my day... Ive had my fair share of a few Policeman's Balls before... You aint missin anything by not goin there. |

Fishinschmoe,i have a small lake close by with both smallies and largies that is open year round and it's only about a ten min drive for me. I live close to the MA border so ill be going to a few places up there once the ice is off the lakes. Im going tomorrow for another wack at them bass, but the lake ive been hitting was still half locked up with ice this past Saturday but maybe with the last couple days being so warm,i'll be able to coax a bass or two into biting. |
