Hi Guys!
Well I thought I could get 1 more trip for the season.
Had already taken a ride around the NW corner here in Ct. this mid-morning and saw no one on the ice.
Checked 4 ponds and all had 5 to 8 inches of snow and slush on top.
NOT GOOD!
Decided to go up to Mass. where I was hopeing the ice may be better.
NO SUCH LUCK!
Watched some snowmobilers kicking up (water) rooster-tails and saw 2 get bogged down in the slush on Littleville Lake.
Also watched 2 guys slog thru 5-8 inches of snow, slush, and water coming off the ice.
Man!.....Where they Huffing and Puffing when they got to the boat ramp.
Told me it was brutal walking and they didn't have much luck smelting or trying for trout.
Then I drove north up to Onota Lake.
Only a small handfull out on the ice......Same conditions.
I never even tried to get on either lakes.
P.S. Noticed that all the streams and rivers, I passed or went over, now starting to swell and run rolly!
As I said!......"The Fat Lady Has Sung for Me This Season!"
Putting the short rods and ice gear away and getting the long rods ready!
Tired of winter -> Bring on the SUNSHINE
Best regards,

Whats up SeaDog,,
I couldnt agree more ..to much slush and all the old holes out
there are reseeding into some dangerous pits that are blended right in with the rest of the ice 3X there normal size.....It was a good season of ice fishing ,
But I too am ready for open water...a lot of waters now are a 60 / 40 ratio of ice to water,,,,,Put all the tipups and jig poles and other goodie packed in the sled
up for the year............gettin the other poles and reels ready now |

Its time to change the pic on my profile from a Jack Crevalle to a pike or smallie, Work on the Merc, and start slinging BS out on the River Fishing Reports.
