Hi Guys!
Well met up with my fishing buddy and his brother at 8:00 AM.
We were trying to jig up some smelt -> BUT NOTHING!
They set out some tip-ups for trout and got 1 flag with a half chewed minnow!
We all left by 12:45.
Nice day though -> Ptly cloudy and NO WIND!
Ice north of the ramp about 8 inches black ice with 2 inches of snow on top.
We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Seadog,
You ever try jigging smelt up there after dark. Years ago used to go there a lot and do really well from about 6pm till 9pm.

Hi deerslayer1,
FYI -> You can not be on or within the Colebrook Res. or Hogback Res. after sundown or MDC will get you and kick you out!!!
Pretty much the same with all waters MDC has control over.

Join the mid winter club. Anywhere you go will suck. I have just been saving my gas and bait money and just been fishin ponds that are no farther than 10 miles. So Birges gets hit alot. I really don't care if I don't catch anything because I can't wait till late Feb to catch those gator pike in north bay of Bantam Lake! |

That's why I said years ago, before it was under MDC authority, Last time i fished it was the early 80's. I don't think they controlled it then. Oh well, another good night spot gone.
Tried to fish off Holiday Point on Candlewood this year, have to be a member to park there now, if not you get towed! _________________ CAN'T CATCH FISH SITTING ON THE COUCH! |
