SkeeterJim and I got together to kill a few hours in the afternoon.
We loaded up the TwinTroller X10 and headed out. Weather was clear and sunny, water was stained, less than 12" clearity, water temp? guessing in the high 60's.
We spent the first hour working to left side shore line, Nothing, not even a nibble. Made it to the cove on the left, fished the dam, still nothing. We tried throwing, spinner baits, creature baits, jigs, lures, I even ddi some wacky jigging which would catch anything, Dead.
We continued to follow the shore line to the small shallow cove area maybe (8" -12") deep. Missed a small blowup using the wacky rig, and Jim make sure to bust on me for that.
Jim went back to throwing a small spinner bait and soon after he catch a pan fish. At least the skunk was out of the boat. as we progessed to the small river things started picking up.
Jim catch a nice 4 lb LMB, he pick up a few more samller ones. He was about 5 fish ahead of me. Which I didn't here the end of that all day. Then I picked up a 2 lb LMB.
Worked our way around to the docks and tall grass picking up small LMB along the way (Jim still leader the count). We ran into two guys on a tracker so we turned around and headed back where we came to pick up anything we might have missed.
The guys in the Tracker were close on our heels, following us. the funny part was when we got to the shallow cove area, they stopped because they couldn't go in the shallow water. I picked up another heavy 3lb LMB near a log.
We ended about 3 hours later with I think with over 12 fish, Jim leading the way.
The Twintroller ran great, it was awesome to go in the shallows where others couldn't, some meathead in a pontoon boat motored between us and another pontoon boat and was about 10 feet from us. The Twintroller handled the wake just fine.
I'm impressed. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

I saw the new rig parked in the driveway on the cute little custom trailer this past weekend. Always going to find meatheads everywhere you go! Sounds like you had a fun outing. Ask pointing dog about being schooled by me at Beseck one late October afternoon about 5 years ago. The fish were on docks and I was killing them skipping senkos under docks! _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
