Since there is no Panfish message board, I thought this should go here as panfish technically are a member of the black bass family.

I hit Middle Bolton with my 4 year old today from 9am til noon.

water temp. was 73 degrees
air temp. 80+
water was slightly stained and high

There was some really good current flowing out of upper, under the road into Middle. I threw a striper plug at the current flow for 20 minutes with no takers. Rolling Eyes Then we proceeded to the main lake and went to the left and fished shallow with nightcrawlers and bobbers, and we killed the sunfish and perch. There must be some nuclear waste runnoff getting into the lake, probably from Johnny Skeeters house, he's been experimenting with local anesthesia and his home circumcission kit. Shocked Shocked Anyway the smallest sunfish we caught was 3lbs., Rolling Eyes and the perch were over 4lbs. Rolling Eyes We caught about 3 dozen each, and our arms were so tired we only stayed 3 hours. Laughing Laughing

It was fun just getting out and fun fishing with my son. Every time a sunfish dragged his bobber under he acted like he was pulling in a huge mako or something, too funny. Memories I'll never forget, and I hope he won't either.

sounds like fun Gary and I am sure your son will remember all of your outings together. Heck, he is probably dreaming about fish right now.Smile There is nothing better than seeing your son reeling in some fish. I have taken my son to see monster trucks, motocross, hockey games, skate boarding tourneys and nothing gets him as excited as when he catches is a fish. Good stuff.

Yes Pete,..the Bolton lakes are well known for that. State record panfish and perch are routinely caught there and it's a closely guarded secret but the striper fishing is excellent this time of year,...here's one I caught there recently!! Razz Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
