I'm lucky to have access to a private lake which used to serve as a resevoir. Was in an rowboat with an electric motor with two other guys I know. I was mostly working a two piece Rapala in "classic" minnow golors, grey with a red spot under the chin area, while the other guys were working white swirly tail grubs on jigheads. I managed to pick up some smaller size fish, and a few crappies. Had two fish toss my lure, literally, across the water, and then switched over to a black jitterbug. I must have tied a crappy knot or something; we saw a fish literally chasing something through the water and killed the boat and I worked the jitterbug nice and slow. Felt a tug and set the hook, and just when I started to fight the fish, the lure snapped off. Crying or Very sad My friend was having an equally tough time, and ended up tangling the majority of his spool. My cousin, in the meantime, went 5 for 5 - 5 casts, 5 fish, bass and good size crappie on a baitfish shaped plastic. At least someone did allright.

Also keep encountering line tangling with 8 lb test Stren. Not sure if its the gear or the fisherman but if I had a little more income I'd retire the old Walmart generic 11 dollar special by now. There's a long "guard" piece the line likes to get tangled up around sometimes. If anyone is a resident of this resevoir and catches a 3 - 4 pound largemouth with a jitterbug in his mouth, please return to owner Wink
