Conditions were mostly cloudy, with very light rain for the last half hour and during the weigh in. Water temps were in the low 60's, no wind early, changing to light winds about mid morning, picking up a little bit around lunch, back to light winds in the afternoon. Air temps were 45 -50 in the am, rising to 60 -65 during the day.
I believe most teams caught fish and half the field caught them pretty good, as we had 5 teams with 10lbs. or more for 5 fish. Fish were ob beds for sure, but really skittish, and you really had to work for them. The winning team (Ron and Mike) had 16lbs. 14oz. , all their fish were caught from beds on tubes and grubs. Pointing dog and myself took second place with 13lbs. 12oz., with 2 fish from beds, and the rest on a black and blue jig, pop r, and a chigger craw. Third place went to Emptylakebassman and flatlander with 12lbs. something (I forget), caught on drop shot and rattletraps. All in all a good day, a few trout were caught, as well as plenty of pickeral and perch. Emptylakebassman can fill in the details I forgot, as I am going on memory writing this report. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Thanks for the report Slimecoat....
By the way, if someone catches a 1.5 pound bass, with a yellow clip-on tube cull tag, please remove, and let me know. No need to tell story on how that happened... I did see him on the shore line later in the tournament, near the camp ground, on some submerged twigs. Can't miss the bright yellow tube! |

Thanks for the post Gary. I am a little slow in typing lately as I am down to one wing. Dislocated left shoulder last Thursday. My weight was 12lbs 5 oz.
Overall it was a decent day. Tthe weather held off until we were weighing in.
10boats came 38 fish for 84lbs 13oz total weight. |

Yes pointing dog, I forgot about your bonehead move leaving the yellow lip clip on the small culled bass as you tossed him back into the lake. Too funny!
Then to see him a half hour later near a couple twigs and spook off to deeper water was priceless........ _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
