Not too bad for a first trip to that place when you don't know it at all!
Gardner can be a decent lake at times,..other days you'll swear there's nothing in there. I forgot to make a post about it, but I fished there last Friday when it was clear (but breezy) and did okay around shoreline rocks with a jerkbait and dropshot. After the sun got up in the sky they got very skittish and wouldn't touch the jerkbait anymore. I still managed to catch fish, but I had to let the dropshot sit for quite some time before I'd get bit! Cool

Just my opinion but here's a couple of suggestions for your dropshotting:
1) ditch the jig
2) use light line 4-6# with a rod to match
3) I've heard that gulp is good for smallies, but personally I've not had much luck with it for them and I think it has lousy action (too stiff) for dropshotting with almost zero appeal to largemouths. Just use a 4-5" straight-tailed finesse worm in brown or green and you'll be better off.
Cool
