One of my local pond has about 3/4 coverage of thin ice. The shoreline I usually fish from, which is also the outbound overflow side is the thawed portion of the pond. Since the water is still fairly cold, I'm assuming bass are deep in the middle.
Any ideas? I planning to head out this week and was thinking the ratltrap or senko would be a good guess. I heard that with colder water the bass won't expound energy on smaller baits (ie drop shotting finesse worms)
What do you guys think? (Other than just go try it lol) _________________ 6.5' Penn Long Beach with a Penn 330Gti for deep sea

Every place is a little bit different. I was out pond fishing the first weekend of the month and didn't do so well in deeper water, but there were a ton of cookie-cutter 10-12 inchers stacked up in a foot or so of water right up near shore. Dropshot worked (had to change baits a couple of times) and so did a jerkbait.
Gotta go with a couple different things and figure out what's working. |

thanks,
I went today and...
I could see swarms of minnows stirring things up. I finally found those cookie cutters about in a foot water... except they weren't biting. The water was really clear and they spooked easy. Have to try again soon. _________________ 6.5' Penn Long Beach with a Penn 330Gti for deep sea
