I decided to hit just south of the high school today after work. I got there about 4:30 or so... Svenseat is meeting up with me soon....
OK, so here we go... I hit 2 spots today... 1st up at bat is this amazing scenic spot. This is the trail walking in... (Sorry, i got in total camera mode)
Fist time ever hitting this spot. I am sure glad i did. Not only was it a beautiful spot, but the fish were hittin too! Now im finally in a groove!
I thought it would never happen...
so i find my spot... This huge tree that is pretty much laying in the water, with a bunch of other large trees right under it completely submerged.
So lets make this short and sweet....
I catch 3 Pike all good size... the first one I land... He totally rolled around in the sand so its a bad photo, plus its hard to do all this while you are alone... LOL Is it just me???
The other 2 I lose... the last one was the biggest and broke my line as I was hoisting him up to shore.... He must have been around 8 lbs or so... He was a monster. He took my 5 of Diamonds 1oz Daredevil spoon and steel leader...
He is probably trying to get it out of his mouth as I write this...
Lyman showed up somewhere between the all of this and he gets a nice hit on a pumkin colored lizard... I help him grab it.
We get it in and it slips out of my hands back into the water...
(they are slimy strong son of a guns!) Sorry Lyman!
After that - we wrap it up there and hit our second spot... The Covered Bridge in W. Cornwall.
We showed up about 7:00 or so... and i was nailing them every cast on a Top water Rapala - LMB color sceme.
Here are some photos for ya...
I love the markings on this one!!!
This is right at the bend in the river just south of the covered bridge.
Top water ruled there for me tonight....
