In the past I have had problems with keeping Porgies swimming lively when reeled up quickly from deep water, they always went belly up with their air bladder full, some people offered good advice of venting them, but I found an easier way, when the porgy is in sight let it swim in the water next to the boat (a couple feet under) until you see 2 seperate bubble streams (very noticable) emerge, once they release 2 streams of bubbles, their ready for the livewell or release, if there headed for the frying pan then ignore. Try it it works. |
