We fished the river again this weekend. We were going to change it to Charter Oak but mother nature wouldn't allow that. Again river is very high and muddy. lots of debris in the water. Plus all this rain seems to have droped the water temp into the low 70's
1st place myself and partner John 5 LMB 11lbs 8 oz
2nd place Ron and Greg 5 LMB 11lbs 2 oz
3rd place Johnny Skeeter and partner (sorry forgot his name)
3LMB 2SMB 10lbs 2 oz
big fish Skeeter 3 lbs 14 oz |

Johnny Skeeters partner was Mark (justforfun).
Nice job yesterday guys, and congrats to the winners.
Pointing dog and I struggled, we didn't want to live and die in one area, so we made a milk run. In hindsight, we started in the wrong place, spent too much time in another, and left a couple places too early. We got our 5 fish, but they were all small, only lost 1 at the boat, and it was small as well, so it wouldn't have made a difference. We placed 5th out of 7 boats, but we had fun and made it home safely, so that's what really counts.
Debris in the water was an understatement, we saw a couple of logs in the water that were 20 feet long and 3 to 4 feet across. Holy crap if you hit one of those monter hullbreachers at 70mph, you're all done. All in all an ok day, each day is a learning expirience, we made mistakes, but as long as we know that, and learn from them, we stay ahead of the curve.
Mark, I forgot to ask you yesterday at the weigh in, did you let Johnny catch any of those big fish? He is pretty good with a net! _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

I try not to let him near any caffeine when I'm fishing with him!!
Also, for the record,...Johnny caught all the fish that we weighed that day! All mine were too little,..too late! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

That is so true! My partner has carried me a few times this year! It comes and goes in phases, Just be happy that one of you is catching fish. I don't mind being the net boy from time to time! |
