Do you have a doel fin or other type of hydrofoil on the motor? If you like the boat you may want to try one before you sell her, they are inexpensive and easy to install. I've used them on both my Maritime Skiffs and they work well. Only con to them is you may lose 2-3 mph on your top end...worth it to me. |

Thanks for the suggestion, ripline, but, yeap, there's already a cavitation plate on the Yamaha. It's a SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil.
The boat's max horsepower rating is 60 and the stated weight capacity is 4 persons or 485 pounds. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

You want to sell your boat..Why? I had a 16ft Nitro with a 60 hp Johnson that had no problem..how much crap do you have in the back compartments? I had the same problem with it..I moved my two trolling motor batteries up front..fixed my planing..I use to go with two guys plus myself..other two guys weighed 200 each..but if you want a new boat..that's awesome..good luck ..maybe a new boat will catch you bigger fish... LOL |

Hey, we're not all skinny supermodels like you, Jim.
But, yeap, I actually already built a battery box for the front of the cockpit, so I could move the two trolling motor batteries out of the stern compartment and up against the front deck. That would shift 120 pounds forward. I haven't installed or tested it, yet, though.
This is a tough call for me. My wife already gave me the green light for a new boat. And I found a deep-V I like that could handle three non-skinny people on big water. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Phil,
Get the bigger boat and then I will confidently fish with you. Those small boats and my size don't mix well. _________________ I'd rather be fishing, than sitting here in front of this computer,,, |

If you want to fish for stripers on the rivers this winter, you should buy this boat. She's a breeze to operate and maintain. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
