After getting out of bed later in the afternoon Tuesday I decided to check out the forecast and local tides. Saw Black Rock Harbor low tide was 5:06pm and NWS was predicting a chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms with a few being strong to severe. I look at the radar and saw a storm up by the Catskills heading southeast in this direction but had a feeling it was just gonna miss Bridgeport.

Got to the boat ramp just before 6pm and saw bunker jumping like hell!

I tried playing with the XRW-11 and SP-9 a lot but only got 1 swirl and 2 explosions while slowly walking the dog with the XRW-11.

Later I decided to try and snag bunker after the day I had catching the gator blue last year. No fish ever touched the live bunker I snagged.

By the time it was almost 8pm and black skies with thunder and lightning were getting closer I hit the road.

Saw thicker schools on the very surface being chased more out towards the boats and entrance to the harbor.

They are everywhere. There is just wayyyyy too much bait right now.

I fished a few schools Monday afternoon, and was able to land a few cocktail blues on topwater. Had a livey and a head on the bottom and drifted the edges of a few schools. Had two decent runs but no hook sets.

The larger stripers are still making their way east. I know a few guys out in the greenwich/stamford area that pulled in multiple 40+lb fish this past weekend.

2 years of in employment and yet still no consistency with catching fish or maybe where you fish is just unproductive striper activity iver here in stratford couldn't be better yoh just have to work more than the same 3 lures everyday then post the fact you couldn't land a fish you have the time TRY HARDER and catch some fish for fuck sake

Seriously, why the hate? It seems like a lot of people appreciate Mike's reports, myself included. (Maybe just not naming the exact spots) We're all in this for our love of fishing, lose the negativity. Besides, the guy caught a keeper bass in March out front and takes a bus to fish his spots. Dedication if you ask me..

Hahaha actually pelagic,Avet, and accurate sponsors and pays me to advertise and use their gear I'm not hating on Michael at all just sayin most of his reports consist of the same lure trifecta with mostly no hook ups, now as fisherman what does that tell you?, figure out what they are feeding on and replicate, Or there simply elsewhere, shit unemployed for 2 years and the man takes a bus to fih his favorite spots the man has a passion use that passion, marine wildlife specialist perhaps? Use your knowledge mike! As for you other 2 body guards you're damn skippy I will claim salt life when you put in 90+hours a week on your own fishing fleet .......that's Captain salt life to you!

Wow SL1014 ...you have to either be a fake.. just posting absurd sh%$t to get a laugh.... or the biggest loser/fisherman wanna be I have ever come across.......either way...go away...I am a bit new to the site and post just occasionally. .......this is a small group, they are close and they want this to be fun ...they also set this up to be about the love of fishing not your prowess at it..... In closing SL1014 the best fisherman I know do not say crap about how good they are. The just go about their business as quietly as possible....go brag somewhere else my man we are not impressed!
