Friday was a much nicer day on the water. Got to the Fayerweather jetty around 4:30pm with north winds under 10 mph. High tide for Black Rock was scheduled for 6:30pm.

Worked both sides of the jetty with the SSP-9 but never got any swirls or explosions. Threw the FLR-10 out there and got a hit. A few casts later I get an aggressive WHAM!! Line right away starts peeling but withing a few seconds the fish spit the hook Sad Felt like I lost a gator blue.

As tide was getting closer to high I could see a few pods of bunker being worked farther out. I was hoping they would eventually make their way in before heading back out.

2 fellow Seaside surfcasters arrived while I was out there. That's when the bunker started getting much closer to the beach. One of the surfcasters tried getting out there with a wooden popper. He said he made it at least 100 yards out but still had another 50 yards between where he landed and the bunker. We waited for a while as the bunker kept making there way in and the tide was just starting to turn. Then came the time when the bunker and fish made their round. They decided to make a counter clockwise turn instead of clockwise towards us Sad

Met those 2 guys at the cannon later and we weren't getting into anything. Saw another usual surfcaster there who stayed until the police closed the park, which I did too. The surfcaster who stayed had 2 followers on a small dart type of pencil popper and landed a snarbor. We could see the school over by the sandbar that leads out to the breakwater. I got 1 swirl and had a snarbor come up for the SSP-9 but didn't set the hook. Did catch a sea robin with the FLR-10. We were waiting for tide to get lower because once the sandbar starts showing is when fish get more active before they make their way out. But by the time we started getting into more action is when the police closed the park.
