just purchased 200 yds

intending to use it as leader line to float trout dough off the bottom because, so far, I havent caught any trout with the braid or mono ive tossed in

smaller hooks, less dough, fluoro - am i on the right track?

no need to spool up a whole reel of the stuff is there? just use it as leader? best knot to join the leader to mainline?

Fluoro doesn't float. Well, sometimes surface tension will keep it on the surface.

I prefer a J-knot to tie fluoro leader to braid.

I really like P-Line Fluoroclear, which is a fluorocarbon co-polymer line, and is very inexpensive. I just tried a $40 spool of 10 pound test Seaguar Tatsu and hate it. It has a lot more memory than even 15 pound test Fluoroclear.

For fluorocarbon leader material, I really like those tiny spools of Yozuri Disappearing Pink. I use 20 pound test for striper fishing with 3/4 ounce jigheads and six inch soft plastics, and it holds up really well.
