Met my nephew sunday morning at the Audabon lot and hiked over to the mouth right around dead low tide. About a dozen guys working the channel. Saw three schoolies to about 24" landed in about an hour. Water was still dirty from all the rain and pretty chilly. Strong wind right in our faces didn't help much either. Nice to see some fish, I guess its safe to say the game is on! |

My buddies and I were 3 of the dozen that you saw. We fished from 2am through the sunrise. We each caught 1 that was close to keeper size and we got a few schooled mixed in as well. Bigger fish came Jon the incoming just before peak high tide and the schoolers were all on the falling tide.
Last weekend we only caught schoolies so it was good to get a fish in that pulled a little drag. [/img] |
