Got down to the boat ramp just before 12:30pm Saturday with pleasant conditions outside. High tide was scheduled for 10:45am and low for 5:10pm.

Never got a single hit or swirl whether it was soft plastics, FLR-10, or SP-9.

Later around 4:30pm I went to the Fayerweather jetty to see if anything was going on around the pilings. As I get closer to the island I see birds working a school of bait. I kept walking out to the pilings along Fayerweather and waded out there. Once I started throwing the silver blue SP-9 I was into the schoolies in no time.

Landed a total of 5 and lost 2 with a number of explosions before things quieted down and birds left.

Decided to stay out around the area I was in but try different spots. Once I came to another spot is where I could tell those schoolies were very thick with the possibility of a keeper lurking.

As the evening went on, I landed a 19" 3 pound 1 ounce tailor and another 13 schoolies up to a chunky 19" fish all on the SP-9. Lost 3 and had tons of swipes and explosions. Also saw a pod of bait under the surface quickly come in before leaving.

Once it was about 6:15pm things died and headed in.

Today broke my record of striped bass quantity, other than the babies at Glenwood Park. Original was 17 stripers in April 2010 on various Rapalas and today marked 18 all on the SP-9.

Today was only the second time I have caught a bluefish in November with both being topwater.
