After doing lots of napping Sunday, I didn't sleep as long as I usually would through the night and hit the road around 9am. Arrived at the Fayerweather jetty around 10:15am and high tide was scheduled for 1:21pm. Winds were steady 10 mph southwest and west

Stuck with my trusty silver SP-9 as I worked both sides of the jetty. Never got any swirls or explosions so once the tide started turning I headed over to the city boat ramp where I ran into the surfcaster.

With the windy conditions it was hard to spot bunker unless you saw them splashing. Would occasionally see darker areas looking like pods of bunker but nothing much as for splashing. The surfcaster snagged 3 bunker but only 1 got touched. Striper started running with it before letting it go right as a bluefish took it. The blue was similar to my 28" 7 pound 14 ounce tailor.

In the middle of the afternoon I took a break Downtown to grab something to eat before heading back over to the ramp.

When I get back over to the ramp the surfcaster was still there but said he didn't get into anymore bunker. Later he left with me still there. He was nice enough to let me have the silver blue SP-9 I sold to him due to another fisherman casting his snagger into my zone and causing the line to break when he tried to snag a bunker.

2 lures I played with from then on were the silver blue SP-9 and a gizzard shad Storm Rattlin Chug Bug CB-8. Landed 2 stripers both about the same size with 1 measuring 19" and weighing 2 pounds 10 ounces. Got 1 each on the 2 lures. Lost another schoolie on the SP-9. All 3 gave me a nice fight for their size with the schoolie setup as if I was hooked into a small tailor.

Winds had gotten pretty strong gusting up to 20 mph by the time it was almost sunset and the schoolie bite had turned on. Hit the road around 6:45pm.
