Put in and started off with a slammer in perch, cranking down. 30 or so casts in and I stop the bait boat side as a 5 or so pounder inhales it- the bait disapeared. Set the hook and nothing stuck. 10 or so casts later on the same shallow weedline and I get wacked all the way out by a 5 9- new swimbait pb by 1 ounce. First fish on the new calcutta I got for my bday. Went to shore and asked a dude to take a picture.

Right back out to the same weedline and the slammer gets crushed by another solid fish 10 feet from the boat but no hookup.

Fished along without a hit for 15 minutes or so and picked up the mattlures perch on a 7 foot heavy allstar with mono. First cast and I hook up with my "rat" of the morning at 3 10.

Fish along some more and hit a 4 4. Mattlures yet again.

Little more and I hit a 4 3.

Went on a challenge with a big 3/4oz jig and some huges trailers trying to hit a bigger fish and hit a few pickerel. Two pickerel on the mattlures worked deeper.

Trying to round out a 5fish limit, I hit a 1 fish spot. A narrow deeper basin (5feet) surrounded by 2-3fow. 3 14 munches down on the mattlures boatside, no slack to fight the fish so flipped her right in.

Great last minute trip, weather was perfect and the fishing was great, cant ask for much else- water temp was 57-58 and I got my best 5 out of 3-5fow over dying weeds.

Ive hit 4 (this being the 4th) bags this year in the 20lb class. And every bag has been due to a jig/swimbaits. If you dont believe the word, believe the pictures. These baits excel in night fishing as well as overcast days. Im still waiting for the day this stuff slays um during a tourney- be afraid.
