Got out from about 3 till 6pm today....Wind was howling 20-30mph and the water temp was still 65-68 degrees. I only threw heavy baits,..a 1-ounce jig and a swimbait! Had a couple of bumps on the swimbait but didn't get a hook in anything. Had 3 bites on the jig. 2lbs,..3lbs and 5.75lbs. All the fish came from swimming the jig with a burning retrieve over wind-blown shallow flats that were near deeper water! I should've taken a pic,..but the 2-lber had been chomped by a pickeral that had a bite-pattern bigger than my fist!!
Anyway here's the biggun,..(don't know why the pic was so bleached out!)

It is safe to say, that if you were stranded by a lake and you had a fishing pole, you would be over weight from eating all the lunkers you catch.
Thanks for the pictures and congrats - you are the man. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Congrats, Mark!
It's always a pleasure to read and learn from your posts.
You consistently catch 4-6 LB lunkers from lakes in your area.
It's a shame that Candlewood, Twin Lakes, Lakeville, Longmeadow, Mudge, Long, Ball, etc. aren't closer to you.
You're one of our state's best. |

Goodstuff mark! I hit 3 2-3lbers burning it today at route 9 and a few more hopping it out of the weedline. Lost a 5+ on a offshore hump. Chased it right to the boat. |

Nick, was that you out there around 11 am? I drove by and saw a boat out there and wished I didn't have to return to work. |

Nick, I've been there so I know the area. Did you park in the circle next to the factory and dragged your scanoe all the way to the waters edge or did you find someplace closer to put in? _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

Nick,
Thanks for the offer but I'm running a kids fishing derby Sunday at the local pond in town.
Thanks,
