So I went out to good ol Ball Pond this morning. Got there late (6:45). Wasn't supposed to be windy but it was. Got a 14" and a 17" brown. Lots of action. Lost a few. Wasn't going to keep em but the water was too warm up top so they didn't survive. Guess we're having trout for dinner! Plenty of meat for two.

One more thing.... They both were not stockies. Natives. Should be tasty. I was fishing between 25 and 35 feet.

Gonna give it shot tomorrow early AM. Hopefully the trout respond to the break in the weather

I bet they were "Stockies" at one point. BP does not have natives.

I was told there were natives in BP. MAybe these were fish that were produced by stocked fish. If so than they are.... native.

Went to BP again yesterday morning EARLY! was fishing by 5;15. Caught two Rainbows and 2 Browns. The biggest being a 18" 2.72 lb brown.

Dinner for tonight!

The bite died at 9:00. Water temp was down a bit 78 degrees.

Been fishing Ball Pond for 25 yrs. Nice to see some rainbows being caught there, hadn't gotten one of those in a while. Goodwork on the big brown. And there are some native brookies in there, although i havent gotten one in a long time. They swim in through Ball Pond brook where they are native.

For some reason spell check made Brook trout look like Bookfield.

Anyways, hit BP for trout at 5:30 this AM. No luck. I did happen to catch two huge largemouths though. One 17" 3.5 lber and. 29" 5 lber. I thought h bigger one was a monster trout! He dove like a big brown.

Oh well. Better luck next week. Maybe I'll try Squantz or Mt Tom. Any reports from these two bodies of water?

seen this argument 10 times too many.
They are "wild" but not "native".

I'd hold off on Mt Tom until the weather AND water gets cooler .
