If I remember right, I believe Mount Tom is one of the new lakes stocked with Walleye. If that's the case then they are probably still too small to keep.

840,.....5 inch fingerlings last fall. You have a few years to go before they are of any worth fishing for.
As for the salmon.DEEP! Try a reef runner that hits 21 feet when "flat lined" and 6-4 lb test.In that clear water they become super line-shy.

Nice to hear you did well.I just don't like the people swimming and splashing around at this time of year.I don't think the salmon do either.

I wonder how many of the Walleye will survive with the big Trout and Salmon in there? Anyone know their chance of survival?

As long as people keep picking away at the trout and salmon, better and better.
Only thing,......from what i saw this spring.

The salmon are still laying eggs!

The Salmon can't lay eggs in Mt Tom. From what i heard they are sterile. I think that's why they call them broodstock.

The one i caught in May, had about a shot glass worth left in her.
Unless they are producing unfertilized eggs. Or were in her when stocked.
I wasn't aware that they were sterile, only retired from the captive breeding program.

Yeap, broodstock salmon aren't sterile; they're sexually mature. The question is whether the DEEP stocks females and males in there. if there are eggs and milt in the water, there's a chance the salmon could reproduce.
