Wednesday's plan was to start off at Fayerweather Island jetty just before peak high and work the outgoing as I make my way to Remington. Black Rock Harbor high tide was scheduled for 3:52pm and got to the jetty just after 3:45pm. Conditions were mostly cloudy with a steady 10mph southwest wind with occasional gusts up to 20mph.
Didn't bother much with the Seaside Park side of the jetty because of how choppy it was and all the seaweed the waves were bringing in. Black Rock Harbor was calmer. Lures I played with over there included mullet Saltwater Skitter Pop SSP-9, pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, original pearl shad FLR-10, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, and purple gold Clackin Rap CNR-8. Never had any hits or swirls.
Later moved to the boat ramp. Saw a fisherman casting from his vessel but never saw him set the hook. I didn't have any luck either.
Next stop was the cannon. 2 lures I also tried throwing at the cannon were glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11 and mullet Saltwater Rattlin Rapala SRNR-8 but no lure ever produced.
Last stop was the discharge side of Remington. Threw those 2 FLR-10, the SXR-10, SSP-9, CNM-11, flake blue Max Rap MXR-13, flake ayu MXR-13, and a few soft plastics but nada.
Only fish I saw landed at the discharge were 2 blackfish and 2 baby stripers. All 4 were caught on sandworms. Got to see the tail of a soft plastic get bitten off
Hit the road around 8pm.
