Went to the Thames on sunday afternoon after helping out with the TAVF guys at Skungamaug fish and game.(nice club and great guys)
launched in the harbor in Norwich water was 63 deg. looked around a bit and saw some bunker but passed on them to head down river. got down near the 2a and started throwing poppers.water temp was 61 deg. had1 swirl and nuthin more.lots of blob like algae floating around plus an incoming tide was making things tough.
switch to 6" fin-s and got a few grabs, then white/silver slugo 9" and got a couple more considerations but landed nothing. saw a couple other small boats getting a few hookups.
Looked around some more and saw some more bunker, snagged one and threw it for a while with no results. Headed out at dark but should have stayed.

Sorry to hear about the skunk, Rich. I still haven't fished the Thames River and Norwich Harbor. I have to get out there, one day. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
