After striking out completely from the shore at Stub Pond from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm, I decided to stop at my house, pick my Hobie Pro Angler, The Other Woman, and head over to Batterson Park Pond. I won't be able to fish, tomorrow, so I just had to catch one, today. I was on the water from 12:45 pm to 3:45 pm. The sun was shining, the air was warm and there was a steady breeze blowing from the northeast:
The water was slightly murky, but I could see down about four feet. The water temperature ranged from 62.5 to 64 degrees. I headed straight for the southwest corner, where I had pulled out 11 largemouth bass only four days ago. Unfortunately, I threw a Shad Storm Kickin' Shad in there and immediately snagged the bottom. Oops! Before I freed the Shad and blew up the spot even more, I tried throwing a wacky rigged Green Pumpkin/Red Flake five inch Senko in there. Nada. After I gave up on the southwest corner, I retrieved the Shad and headed up the northwest shore. I tried throwing the wacky Senko at every bit of shade I could find, but got nothing. I hit the cove by Nude Dude's hang out spot and the crew team dock at the beach. Nada. It wasn't until I got to the northwest corner that I finally got some action with the wacky Senko and boated four small largemouth bass that were 12, 11, 13 and 12 inches long:
Whoo Hoo! Now tomorrow won't seem so bad. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
