Went to a local spot of mine. Great for the beginning of the year before the weeds get out of hand, especially in the lower (north) pond.
Fished the lower pond for about a half hour with no luck. Fished the southern most end using a chartreuse+white spinner as well as a bluegill ssr5
As I'm at one spot I check my phone to find that the battery had died , so i decided to wet a quick line in the upper pond, then split to the car to charge it up.
Jumped over to the upper (south) pond and my luck changed. In my last 20 mins of fishing tonight nabbed a 18" chain pickerel and a 16" LM , both on a Silver HJ7. Gotta love the husky jerk. Dead phone = no pics unfortunately.
Overall a nice night. Looking forward to getting out there in my little jon boat soon to hit some areas not very accessible from shore. _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

Nice job! Husky Jerks are killers this time of year when bass are still waking up to the warmer water temps. Pickerel go crazy for them while doing an aggressive retrieve. |

I'm glad to hear you found some decent fish in there. I've been worried about it since the Farmington River overflowed into it a couple of years ago. There used to be some five pound largemouth bass in both ponds. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Went back again yesterday in my 12 ft v hull with AustinB. Got the skunk, fished for about 2 hours, the wind was a bit much to get a solid spot
Went to our other local spot, the crew docks, all together caught 6 rock bass and a fall fish. Better then nothing! _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |
