Sunday after hitting the Pequonnock River, I headed over to Twin Brooks Park. Fished it for about 3 1/2 hours.
Started off at the bridge and threw a silver shad Jointed Shad Rap JSR-4 but had no luck.
Next I went to the pond with the herron statue. Played topwater with a perch Flat Rap FLR-6 and landed 2 pickerel up to 16" and 1 14" 1 pound largemouth. Lost 2 other fish.
Hit areas of the pond with the gazebo and the pond across from it but had no luck. Saw some bass and had bluegills following.
Went over to the cove by the island at the main pond and had a few hits on the surface with the FLR-6. Tried throwing a yellow perch Husky Jerk HJ-6 in the channel between the island and shore but had no luck. Also hit the main cove but had no hits.
Worked areas along the larger pond starting at the cove where 2 brooks feed in. Didn't have any luck with a JSR-4.
Last stop was the November hot spot that also produces in the spring before weeds start growing. Played topwater with a custom painted Shallow Shad Rap SSR-7 and caught 2 largemouths and lost a nice one. Also landed a 6" pumpkinseed.
Hit the road around 7pm |
