You gotta get to a bait shop and spend some $$$ and make some friends there. Somebody should be able to help you out with your problem. Once you catch 1 you will catch many more! _________________ Trust me. Use waxworms ! |

or put some cheap bright solid colored soft plastic on a weighted jig head and bounce it off and around the bottom where your fish finder shows you there are schools of fish in any of CT's larger rivers. Mainly Thames, CT, and Housy _________________ i'm a castaway with no fishing pole, and the fishing hole is just a cast away |

While I enjoy the challenge of trying to catch fish without bait, I happily live without the challenge of trying to catch fish from the shore. To each his own, though. I'm definitely envious, at times, of bait chuckers who catch monster carp and catfish, but you shore fishermen have it way too rough for me. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I started off as a bait chucker but thankfully CD converted me to lures! I was actually afraid that all the walking and wading would tear up my bad back but honestly I think its helped. 1 reason for that is that I get a lot less sleep throwing plugs until 1 or 2 in the morning and going to work at 7 which in turn means less time laying any beds and no matter what bed I buy sleeping for longer periods of time on any bed makes me much much stiffer. I think Id be bored to death throwing chunks now but have nothing bad to say about anyone doing so other then its way more satisfying catching fish on a plug. Im freakin hooked on fishing bad and fish almost every single night even if its raining with the exception of pouring or lightning and thunder! Ive been doing pretty well just about every night also! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

I swing a hammer for a living so chunking and worms are best for me. I will throw a lure when I see them breaking water, otherwise I toss bait on. Over 20 years of striper fishing and haven't had a problem yet. _________________ Better things happen at night! |

Agreed! I shore fished most of my life! then my son got the Tracker and I got spoiled. Now I have the Skeeter and there's no more walking five miles around all three Maltby lakes. _________________ Don't hold your farts in!
