Hit up the CT River at from Haddam Meadows with JesseC. Fast wind and slow fishing. headed up into a canal to take cover from the wind and hopefully some fish awn. Set the hook on my very first bowfin! Only fish caught today but it made my day!

It was howlin' again today. You guys must have gotten bounced! I saw Jesse's post. Nice bow though. Probably a bit easier running right up from Salmon Cove so at least you don't have to cross and you're always close to shore if needed. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Launching at Salmon River can be tough if you catch the outgoing tide, especially before the DEEP puts the docks out. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Yeah. I put the Gemma Rose II to the "Toughest Boat" test, banging into the corner or the concrete and pilings several times. No damage! Launching a small jon is a bit easier from the shore on whichesver side of the concrete (usually towards the cove) is most protected. Hope they put the docks in soon. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

right! it was quite the pleasant surprise, and it was awesome to be able to see one up close, the teeth on those things are gnarly! i'm pretty sure he was using a soft plastic creature type bait. |
