Hey. I know that there's a perch run in the New Haven area. Up the Mill River and the mouth of the West River I've been told are good areas. Just curious if anyone has any clue on when they start showing up in these parts. Thanks |

I snagged a good size 1 almost 2 weeks ago in the Housy in Derby.
Edit, never mind, I git confused as it was a Shad I snagged the other day and not a Perch! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

White perch stay in lower freshwater tidal rivers year round but get more active in open water coves and estuaries in mid and late March |

I snagged up a fat 11 inch anadromous male spawner on the lower Housy a week ago. It's harder to fish for white perch on the lower Housy than on the lower Connecticut at Hamburg Cove, because the coves are much deeper. The cove on the downriver side of Two Mile Island is 25 to 40 feet deep, while most of Hamburg Cove is three to 12 feet deep. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
